History

The Stagecoach began in 2002 as a two-year demonstration program created by Marin County to afford residents of West Marin access to medical, educational, civic, shopping and workplace sites throughout the County. Its success has led to the need for larger vehicles and for service changes, so that the Stagecoach can continue to connect key West Marin communities and begin to provide an auto alternative for weekend visitors to West Marin recreational destinations.

The Stagecoach is funded through Marin County Measure A sales tax funds and through grants from the federal government.
